Chris is the founding Director of JAM Architects, and since its inception over 10 years ago, has overseen it’s development as a respected and enduring practice.

Chris studied Architecture at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology graduating in 1991. Prior to establishing JAM (formerly Jan + Manton), his professional experience included 10 years with Metier 3 Architects. In his capacity as an Associate, his experience encompassed large scale projects of national significance, notably the National Gallery of Victoria and other significant projects including the T&G Building Reconstruction (60,000 m2), the SECV Building (50,000 m2), and Country Road Flagship Store, South Yarra.

Chris during his formative period travelled extensively throughout Europe, America and Asia, completing projects in the USA and Asia.

In addition to these International Architectural commissions, Chris has overseen the design and construction of numerous national commercial, retail, residential and interior/fitout projects.

Recent projects include the completion of the Finger Wharf Retail project at Woolloomoolloo in Sydney, which consisted of a variety of restaurants such as the now famous Otto, Mantaray, Kingsleys, Laurant and Shimbysoha by the Sea. Commercial developments in Smith Street, Collingwood, Peel Street, North Melbourne and Kavanagh Street, Southbank have have recently.
